Adams blasts Taoiseach’s comments on SF handling of sexual abuse cases

The Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams has described as “despicable” remarks made by the Taoiseach when he said he did not believe him regarding his party’s involvement in sexual abuse cases.

The Sinn Féin leader was speaking in Belfast today after the launch of ‘Ireland, One Island, No Borders’.

Yesterday, Enda Kenny said that Gerry Adams should immediately give the gardaí everything he knows about the IRA, including its network of ‘safe houses’:

However, Mr Adams has said that the Taoiseach is being opportunistic and is not on trying to resolve this issue.

“His (the Taoiseach’s) focus isn’t on trying to resolve this issue,” said Adams.

“He didn’t even answer a proposition from the (the North’s) Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness for six months.” BN
