Poems

Ayowunmi, a memo!

You get through to me
Like oxygen fills the lungs
As blood flows by the vain

You get through to me
Like the rain conquers the earth
As fire the gold

Your voice like the sunrise
Your thought as the moonlight
Day or night they guide me

I glow like hibiscus in her prime
As butterfly, she takes flight
Just at the picture of us beyond now

Oh…the sun sets at noon
The moon never goes to sleep
Hibiscus never bud
As butterfly dies a caterpillar

Ayowunmi
You get through to me
